Japan Airlines Expands A350-1000 International Service to London-Haneda Route
Japan Airlines (JAL) has expanded its international service with the introduction of the Airbus A350-1000 on its London (LHR) to Tokyo Haneda (HND) route, starting October 24, 2024. The new aircraft offers enhanced inflight comfort with a four-class configuration, providing travelers with an elevated experience. JAL’s A350-1000, known for its fuel efficiency, also aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 15-25% compared to previous models.
Initially, the A350-1000 will operate on alternate days for flights JL044/043, while the Boeing 777-300ER will continue service on the remaining days. The A350-1000 will feature new cabins in First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy classes, designed to offer a more personalized and comfortable journey.
In First Class, passengers will enjoy private suites with sliding doors, spacious seating that converts into beds, and one of the largest personal monitors in the industry. Business Class will now include fully enclosed private spaces, with reclining seats and large monitors for a cinema-like experience. Premium Economy boasts stress-free reclining seats and enhanced legroom, while Economy Class offers improved seating with larger entertainment screens.
JAL has also introduced new inflight meal services, offering more vegan and vegetarian options, along with eco-friendly tableware. Enhanced inflight entertainment includes 4K monitors across all classes, Bluetooth® connectivity, and free Wi-Fi access for premium cabin travelers.
JAL’s A350-1000 first entered service earlier this year on routes to New York and Dallas, and the airline plans to transition from Boeing 777-300ERs to the more sustainable A350-1000s across its international fleet. So far, JAL has received six of the 13 ordered A350-1000s, reinforcing its commitment to comfort and environmental sustainability.
