Japan Airlines Expands A350-1000 Service to London-Tokyo Route

Japan Airlines (JAL) has begun introducing its advanced Airbus A350-1000 on flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and Tokyo Haneda (HND) as of October 24, 2024, elevating passenger experience with enhanced comfort and sustainability. This new aircraft, marking JAL's European A350-1000 debut, operates on an alternating schedule with Boeing 777-300ERs.

The A350-1000 features a four-class configuration with innovative cabin amenities:

  • First Class: Six fully private suites offer reclining sofas that transform into spacious beds, built-in headrest speakers, and 43-inch 4K monitors.
  • Business Class: 54 private suites with reclining seats and 24-inch screens enhance privacy and comfort.
  • Premium Economy: With larger partitions and reclining legrests, seats include 16-inch 4K monitors for improved viewing.
  • Economy Class: Enhanced seats with adjustable recline and 13-inch 4K monitors create a more relaxed travel experience.

JAL’s latest inflight services now include new meal options, sustainable tableware, and Panasonic’s upgraded entertainment system with free Wi-Fi in First and Business Class and limited access in Economy and Premium Economy.

As JAL integrates more A350-1000s, the airline continues its commitment to environmentally conscious travel, with a 15-25% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to previous models.
