Kuwait Airways to Relocate Operations to JFK’s New Terminal 6 in 2026

Kuwait Airways has officially chosen John F. Kennedy International Airport’s (JFK) new Terminal 6 (T6) for its future New York operations, becoming the 12th airline to commit to the cutting-edge facility. The announcement was made by JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), the company overseeing the development and management of T6 in partnership with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.

Kuwait Airways, which has served the New York market for over 40 years, currently operates flights from JFK Terminal 7 using its Boeing 777-300 and Airbus A330-800 widebody aircraft. With the first T6 gates set to open in 2026, Kuwait Airways will join an impressive lineup of leading global carriers, including:

  • Aer Lingus
  • All Nippon Airways (ANA)
  • Austrian Airlines
  • Brussels Airlines
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Condor

A Key Piece in JFK’s $19 Billion Transformation

Terminal 6 is a pivotal part of JFK’s $19 billion modernization project, designed to enhance passenger experience and streamline airport operations. The redevelopment plan includes:

  • A new ground transportation center
  • A completely redesigned roadway network
