La Romana Airport Launches Air Connection with Poland via SkyUp Airlines
La Romana International Airport celebrated the arrival of SkyUp Airlines' inaugural flight from Warsaw, Poland, marking the beginning of twice-weekly flights between the two destinations.
The first flight, operated on a Boeing 777-300R carrying 333 passengers, underscores the growing influx of European tourists to the Dominican Republic. SkyUp Airlines will also launch flights from Katowice, further strengthening connections with Eastern Europe.
Luis Emilio Rodríguez, the airport’s director, emphasized in a press release that this operation was made possible through partnerships with tour operators Anex Tour and Join Up. He noted the positive economic impact this new route brings to the tourism sector in the country’s eastern region.
With access to renowned destinations such as Casa de Campo, Altos de Chavón, and the beaches of Bávaro and Dominicus, La Romana is solidifying its position as a key gateway for international visitors.
The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed, showcasing Dominican hospitality. Additionally, the region’s tourism growth continues with the return of American Airlines’ daily flight from Miami.
