Sabre, American Airlines Extend Multi-Year Technology Partnership

Sabre Corporation, a global leader in travel technology, and American Airlines have announced the renewal of their long-term partnership. The multi-year agreement includes the continued use of the SabreSonic® Passenger Service System (PSS) and marks a commitment to advancing technology modernization and innovation in the airline industry.
Scott Laurence, Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Retailing at American Airlines, stated: "At American, our customers are at the center of each decision we make. Leveraging solutions like SabreSonic helps us meet the needs of both our customers and team, and we’re pleased to extend our partnership with Sabre."
Over the past decade, the collaboration between Sabre and American Airlines has driven significant advancements in SabreSonic, benefiting not only the airline but the broader industry. Innovations include intelligent seat re-accommodation, advanced inventory capabilities, and enhanced cabin management tools.
Roshan Mendis, Chief Commercial Officer of Sabre Travel Solutions, added: "American is a global airline leader, and we are proud that our solutions continue to meet its evolving needs. This partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting American’s commercial and technology strategies while prioritizing customer-centric solutions."
In addition to renewing the SabreSonic PSS agreement, American Airlines has extended its subscription to Sabre PRISM, a corporate travel contract management solution. This follows the 2023 rollout of American’s NDC (New Distribution Capability) offers through Sabre’s Global Distribution System (GDS).
The announcement also comes shortly after the resolution of a long-standing 2011 lawsuit involving US Airways, which later merged with American Airlines.
