Wizz Air, recognized as the world's top sustainable budget airline, advises customers to avoid purchasing tickets through online travel agencies (OTAs) due to substantial markups on flights, luggage, and additional services.

Price comparisons between Wizz Air and platforms like Kiwi and eDreams reveal that OTAs may inflate costs by up to 145%. Specifically, eDreams has been charging 45% more for basic fares and 66% extra for 20kg of checked baggage. Similarly, Kiwi has increased prices by 83% for 20kg of baggage and 66% for added legroom.

Andras Rado, Head of Communications, commented: “OTAs continue to rip off UK consumers by marking up flights and add-ons. As an ultra-low-cost carrier, we will always ensure that customers can get from A to B for the lowest price possible. To avoid being overcharged, we urge travelers to book directly with us. Booking direct will ensure customers get the best fare price possible and will be updated from Wizz Air directly about their booking.”

Operating with a fleet of 213 Airbus A320 and A321 planes, Wizz Air prides itself on its team of committed aviation experts who provide excellent service and low rates, attracting 60.3 million passengers in 2023. The airline is also publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange with the ticker symbol WIZZ.
