Brexit Hits Murcia Harder Than Any Other Spanish Region

According to a study conducted by Exceltur, the national tourist quality body, almost half of the businesses associated with tourism in Spain, including accommodation, leisure services, and car hire farms, are by now observing a negative impact on their turnover as a result of Brexit. Also, Marcia is one of those regions where this impact is the deepest.
It is reported that in Spain in general, sales to the UK tourist are down by 4.2 percent this year. However, in Costa Calida, where British visitors comprise the higher percentage in terms of international visitors than other 16 regions in Spain, witnessed a drop of 4.7 percent whatsoever.
Only in Balearics and the Canaries, sales were the worst affected. The figures for Murcia is greater than Comunidad Valenciana, which includes Costa Blanca with 4.3 percent and Andalucia with 4.6 percent respectively.
On the other section of the scale, Navarra and Extremadura with -1.2 percent and -1.3 percent respectively.
