Princess Cruises Adds Third Solar Eclipse Voyage for 2026

Princess Cruises has unveiled a third voyage in its highly anticipated 2026 Total Solar Eclipse series, introducing a 14-day Mediterranean & Adriatic with Total Solar Eclipse cruise aboard the Enchanted Princess. Departing roundtrip from Rome on August 4, 2026, the voyage will offer travelers the opportunity to witness a rare celestial event at sea while exploring some of Southern Europe’s most iconic coastal destinations.
This new itinerary joins previously announced eclipse-themed cruises on Sky Princess (sailing August 8, 2026, from Southampton) and Sun Princess (offering 7-, 14-, and 21-day sailings from Barcelona and Athens), expanding Princess Cruises’ commitment to delivering immersive and once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences.
The total solar eclipse, expected to last two minutes and 18 seconds, will be visible from a prime location off the eastern coast of Spain on August 12, 2026.
Highlights of the 14-day itinerary include:
-
Civitavecchia (Rome) – Embark and disembark in the Eternal City.
-
Naples (Capri & Pompeii) – Explore ancient ruins or the Amalfi Coast.
-
Kotor, Montenegro – Scenic beauty in a fjord-like bay.
-
Dubrovnik, Croatia – Walk the medieval city walls.
-
Corfu, Greece – Enjoy beaches and Venetian-style Old Town.
-
Messina & Palermo, Sicily – Visit Mt. Etna or vibrant markets.
-
Gibraltar – Take in views from the iconic Rock.
-
Alicante & Barcelona, Spain – Discover Mediterranean charm and culture.
"Adding Enchanted Princess to our 2026 solar eclipse lineup allows more guests to be part of this extraordinary moment at sea while exploring breathtaking Mediterranean and Adriatic destinations," said Terry Thornton, Chief Commercial Officer at Princess Cruises. "With limited availability on Sky Princess and Sun Princess, we're excited to give guests a new opportunity to experience this rare astronomical event aboard another of our spectacular ships."
During the eclipse, guests will gather on deck with Princess-branded eclipse viewing glasses and enjoy a variety of themed activities including astronomy lectures, stargazing, solar system trivia, and celestial-themed food and drinks. Passengers are also encouraged to bring their own telescopes and wear eclipse-inspired attire to celebrate the occasion.
