Curio Collection by Hilton Gets its Big Break in Montevideo

Hilton’s Curio Collection adds another gem to its portfolio with the recent launch of the SORO Montevideo. Hilton has announced the opening of the SORO Montevideo, Curio Collection by Hilton.

This new property marks the brand’s debut in Uruguay, while also standing as the third Hilton property in the country overall.

It is a modern, 40-room boutique hotel and strengthens Hilton’s position as a global hospitality company with hotels and resorts spread throughout the premier destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America.

The new SORO Montevideo, Curio Collection by Hilton is in the heart of the charming Pocitos neighborhood in Montevideo. This hotel boasts a contemporary design which is emblematic of the city’s historic charm mixed with urban flare.

The 14-floor property offers well-appointed accommodations with natural light and thoughtful in-room amenities, such as coffee and tea stations, a minibar, HDTV and a desk.

Guests can also take advantage of wellness-focused amenities, including a gym with panoramic terraces equipped with hydromassages and thermal conditioning that independently provides cooling and heating.

The property also includes a rooftop jacuzzi with waterfront views as well as Tomás, a signature restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu based on the day’s freshest products and ingredients.

Boasting a modern functional design, the property also offers a flexible meeting room on the first floor for up to 40 people.

Its environmental commitment and unique amenities make this hotel a highly sought-after location for travelers visiting the city. The new building will incorporate renewable and energy-efficient technologies throughout, including a solar collector system for water heating and natural lighting in all public spaces and guest rooms, in line with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose sustainable-environment commitment.

One of the most important qualities of any hotel is its location, and this one certainly gets that right. As noted above, SORO Montevideo is in the heart of Pocitos, recognized for its architectural beauty and as a rich artistic community.

Overlooking La Plaza Tomás Gomensoro, which was inspired by the European square from the late 19th century, the hotel offers convenient access to the Rambla de Montevideo as well as Pocitos Beach, the local market of Villa Biarritz, and several malls and restaurants.

Hilton currently has a portfolio of nearly 150 open hotels and resorts welcoming travelers in the Caribbean and Latin America.

In its 100th year, the company continues to pursue additional growth opportunities in the region and currently has a robust pipeline of more than 90 hotels throughout the region.
