Four Seasons to Open Landmark Luxury Hotel on Rio’s Leblon Beach in 2029
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has unveiled plans for a new luxury beachfront hotel in Rio de Janeiro, marking the brand’s highly anticipated return to Brazil. Developed in partnership with Catuaí Asset, the Four Seasons Hotel Rio de Janeiro at Leblon is slated to open in 2029, bringing world-class hospitality to one of the city’s most coveted coastal neighborhoods.
The new property will rise within the former Hotel Marina Palace, the tallest building in Leblon. The structure will undergo a complete transformation, with its vintage façade and interiors redesigned to create an iconic hotel featuring roughly 120 rooms and suites overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The renovation aims to blend timeless elegance with modern luxury, setting a new standard for high-end lodging in Rio.
“We are excited to introduce Four Seasons to Rio de Janeiro as we continue to expand our South American portfolio,” said Alejandro Reynal, President and CEO of Four Seasons. He emphasized the brand’s commitment to exceptional service, thoughtful design, and immersive guest experiences, noting that the project will elevate Rio’s luxury hospitality scene.
Leblon, known for its sophistication, cultural vibrancy, and golden coastline, is undergoing renewed investment in lifestyle and leisure infrastructure. The arrival of a Four Seasons property is expected to accelerate this evolution, reinforcing the neighborhood’s status as a premier destination for both international travelers and local visitors.
For Catuaí Asset, the project represents a major milestone. “Bringing the iconic Marina Palace back to life with a globally renowned brand such as Four Seasons is a powerful motivation,” said Alfredo Khouri Junior, Founding Partner. He described the development as a legacy initiative designed to endure for generations.
The hotel will offer multiple dining concepts, including a rooftop pool and bar with sweeping ocean views and a signature restaurant featuring locally inspired cuisine. Guests will also enjoy spa and wellness facilities, modern design infused with Rio’s cultural elegance, and a curated selection of beachfront activities, capturing the spirit and beauty of this world-famous city.
