Gran Muthu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo, Cuba's first LGBTI Hotel, Opens

On December 5, as announced, the Gran Muthu Rainbow Hotel opened its doors with a luxury show, at the height of its facilities, located in Playa Playuelas, just off Cayo Guillermo, and dedicated exclusively to the lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex (LGBTI) community market.

Prior to the cultural activity, Rafael López, general director of the Muthu chain for Cuba, and Iyolexis Correa Lorenzo, delegate of the Mintur in the province of Ciego de Ávila, to which this key belongs, proceeded to cut the ribbon that officially opened the hotel.

Another interviewee was Juanjo Subirat, general director of the Tryp Cayo Coco hotel, who told us that this is a very nice hotel. "Evidently the expectation has to be very big; it is easy to manage because of the number of rooms it has, and because of the type of client, it can work very well".

As to whether the Meliá chain intends to join the initiative, he says: "Hopefully, Meliá, like Iberostar and the others, will do it. I imagine that if this one works, then yes. The clients of the LGTBI market have high purchasing power, they don't look at prices".
