The tranquil shores of Loreto, Baja California Sur, are poised for a new chapter in luxury hospitality with the upcoming debut of Mailena, the region’s first adults-only wellness resort. Set within the breathtaking Danzante Bay community and scheduled to open in late summer 2026, Mailena promises to become a holistic retreat that merges high-end design, nature, and innovative wellness offerings.

Backed by the vision of developer Luz Maria Torres, Mailena will feature 96 upscale rooms, including suites, casitas, and ocean-view penthouses, all crafted with sustainable architecture by Mexico-based firm Broissin. The resort’s earth-toned palette, native materials, and nature-inspired forms reflect its deep integration with the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and Sea of Cortez landscape.

Curated Experiences and Culinary Wellbeing

Mailena will invite guests to reconnect with mind, body, and nature through immersive activities like cultural tours, snorkeling, ATV desert rides, and golf at the acclaimed TPC Danzante Bay—Mexico’s only TPC course.

Holistic cuisine will be a cornerstone, with menus focused on local, seasonal ingredients and functional nutrition that align with guests’ wellness goals. Dining venues will include a panoramic oceanfront restaurant and an indoor/outdoor poolside bar.

A Gateway to Loreto’s Magic

Located in Loreto Bay National Marine Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mailena joins a growing community at Danzante Bay, which already includes the Villa del Palmar resort and real estate offerings starting from $650,000. Owners at the nearby Mantarraya residences will enjoy access to Mailena’s full suite of amenities.

Loreto—Mexico’s only Pueblo Mágico with an international airport—offers direct flights from major U.S. and Canadian cities, including San Francisco, Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Calgary, and Tijuana. With its colonial charm, marine biodiversity, and low-key luxury vibe, Loreto is fast becoming a magnet for travelers seeking meaningful and mindful escapes.

Mailena’s arrival signals not just a new resort, but a new standard of luxury wellness travel in Baja California.
