RIU Hotels to Open Five Caribbean Properties in December

RIU Hotels & Resorts announces the reopening of five of its hotels in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Bahamas, with which it manages to reactivate all the destinations of the Caribbean islands in which the chain is present. 

In Montego Bay, Jamaica, the Riu Palace Jamaica restarted operations on December 1 and the Riu Montego Bay restarted operations three days later. 

On the other hand, in the Dominican Republic, the Riu República resumes its activity on December 15; and on the same day, in Aruba, the Riu Palace Antillas reopens its doors to the public. Finally, the Riu Palace Paradise Island will culminate this series of openings on December 17, so that the chain will have already resumed activity in all destinations where it operates in the Caribbean.

The Riu Palace Jamaica Hotel inaugurated on December 1st the reopening of this month of December in the Caribbean. The hotel has a total of 228 rooms designed for the comfort of the client and enjoys the differentiated all-inclusive service of RIU 24 hours and the category "Only for adults". Also, three days later, the Hotel Riu Montego Bay resumes operation on December 4th. The hotel, which has been completely renovated, offers the characteristic all-inclusive service of RIU. Both hotels offer the opportunity to discover the best places and landscapes of Jamaica for its ideal location in Montego Bay.

In the Dominican Republic, the Hotel Riu República opens its doors again to the public on December 15th. This hotel Adults Only by RIU has more than 1,300 rooms and has the unmistakable All Inclusive 24 hour service of RIU. Among its facilities are eight swimming pools, nine restaurants, ten bars and the Splash Water World, all designed for the fun and enjoyment of its customers. The Hotel Riu República is located in one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the Caribbean because of its nature and paradisiacal beaches, Punta Cana.

On the same day, December 15, the Riu Palace Antillas does the same in Aruba to receive their customers again. Located at the edge of Palm Beach and surrounded by the most select Caribbean atmosphere, the Riu Palace Antillas enjoys the category "Only for adults" and offers the client the recognized All Inclusive service 24h of RIU. The establishment has a total of 482 rooms and has ideal facilities for a relaxing escape.

Finally, on December 17, the Riu Palace Paradise Island in the Bahamas reopens. The chain's only hotel in the destination, which was renovated in 2017, completes this series of RIU openings in the Caribbean. Located on an impressive white sand beach, this "Adults Only" hotel enjoys a renovated facility that features the fresh and elegant style RIU is introducing in its renovations and new construction. The Riu Palace Paradise Island offers the unique 24-hour all-inclusive RIU service that guests can enjoy in its 379 rooms.

With these openings RIU Hotels & Resorts has managed to reactivate practically all its hotels on the beaches of Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America located in Aruba, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama and the Dominican Republic. To date, RIU has opened or is about to open a total of 35 hotels in the region, which represents practically all of its hotel facilities in these destinations, with four hotels remaining closed.

Since the beginning of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, RIU had to close its 99 hotels located in 19 countries. To date, the chain has 58 hotels operating in 17 countries and all of them have the guarantee of the 17 safety protocols included in the RIU Manual for the Post-COVID hotel. This guide was created by the chain in collaboration with the consulting firm Preverisk, which offers the maximum possible guarantees of health and safety for both clients and collaborators.
