Tribute Portfolio Debuts in Buenos Aires with Recoleta Grand Hotel

Tribute Portfolio, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global collection of distinctive independent hotels, has made its debut in the Argentine capital with the opening of Recoleta Grand, Buenos Aires, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Situated in the heart of Recoleta—often referred to as “La París Argentina”—the property blends classic elegance with literary and cultural flair.
The 142-room hotel, including six uniquely designed suites, features interiors by local designer Lucas Gashu, drawing from the bohemian and French-influenced spirit of the neighborhood. The hotel’s literary theme is present throughout, from bilingual books in rooms to curated vintage collections in communal spaces.
Dining is led by Executive Chef Maximiliano Matsumoto, a Buenos Aires native known for his contemporary Argentine cuisine with Asian nuances. Guests can enjoy inventive culinary experiences at The Atrium, Café de Prensa, and Mansión Mihura, a historical section of the property inspired by Latin American literature and designed by EDG Interior Architecture + Design.
Cocktails are curated by award-winning mixologist Ignacio Maggio, bringing a unique storytelling element to the bar program. The property also includes a rooftop terrace, Floralis Spa, event spaces, and a fitness center.
“We’re proud to bring Tribute Portfolio’s signature character to Buenos Aires,” said Brian King, President of Marriott International for the Caribbean & Latin America. “Recoleta Grand offers travelers an authentic connection to local culture through bold design and meaningful experiences.”
As part of Palacio Mihura, the hotel maintains its early 20th-century architectural charm, and its proximity to landmarks like the National Museum of Fine Arts positions it as a cultural hub. A series of rotating art exhibitions, literary pop-ups, and collaborations with local artists are planned to further enrich the guest experience.
Recoleta Grand participates in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing members to earn and redeem points for stays, experiences, and more.
