Ecuador Showcases Tourism Alternatives at FITE 2013

Guayaquil and Ecuador are going to be the venue of the Largest Tourism Show in the American Pacific Ocean. The sectors and activities linked to the Ecuadorian tourism industry are coordinating the last actions to present, within the framework of the 11th Edition of Ecuador International Tourism Fair “Fite 2013”, the country tourism offer for internal and external markets.

Quito, the capital of Ecuadorians, was recently awarded by World Travel Awards (WTA) 2013, which are described as “Tourism Oscars”, for being the Leading Destination of South America 2013, and by TripAdvisor, the biggest travel website in the world, as one of the South America’s top 25 destinations. Besides, because of its assorted gastronomic offer, Ecuador has been nominated for ‘Best Gastronomic Destination’ in the WTA, along with Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

FITE, is famous for being the “Meeting Point” between Offer and Demand of World Tourism and Link Zone for the countries that make up the Inca Route, and the Pacific Ocean’s basin. This edition is expected to be attended by delegations from over 30 countries, 350 exhibitors, 4,000 experts in specialized tourism, 200 national and international journalists, as well as nearly 65,000 visitors in an effort to see and buy during the “Ofertas solo en FITE” campaign.

That’s the reason why Ecuador plays the leading role in this tourism fest that promotes its different travel attractions as an extraordinary destination. Santa Cruz is a fine example. The 98,555-hectare island is nestled in the center of Galapagos archipelago.

Some of its sought-after attractions are Charles Darwin Scientific Station, Garrapatero Beaches and Tortuga Bay. And when it comes to trekking, the route between the paths and Grietas would be a good choice. Santa Cruz also offers adventure; this enchanted island is one-of-a-kind in terms of such activities as kayaking, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Safe diving in Galapagos is undoubtedly one the best experiences in the world; the finest sites to practice this sport are located near Puerto Ayora bay: Islote Caamaño, La Loberia, Punta Estrada or Punta Carrion. The presentation of Islas Galapagos, World Natural Heritage, will inevitably catch your eye in FITE.

Rumiñahui canton (Pichincha), through its Tourism Department, will be exhibiting a show of its active and diverse tourism, gastronomic, cultural and recreational offer.

Rumiñahui welcomes over 30,000 tourists every year, especially during its community fests. Its administration works hard to develop tourism, by installing information signals and signs, and working with the private sector to improve services so visitors can enjoy its tourism sites.

NAPO’s will be another attractive booth to be presented in FITE 2013, which along with hotel offers and travel operators, is going to put tourism alternatives on the table: La Isla Amazonian Park (PALI), the Monument and Caves of Jumandy, Central Park and the historic Archidona Church, near Baeza Antigua, among others. Napo is part of Ecuador’s Amazonian region; it takes its name from the large Napo River and Tena is its capital city.

You’ll be shown this and much more during Ecuador International Tourism Fair, FITE 2013, to be held on Sep. 26 – 29, 10:00 - 20:00, at Guayaquil’s Convention Center, Simon Bolivar (old airport).
