The meeting stressed the global nature of security challenges and the need to create global solutions while enhancing the collective support to countries affected.

UNWTO announced another record year in international tourist arrivals. UNWTO said that international tourist arrivals grew by 4.4 percent in 2015 to reach 1,184 million in 2015.

UNWTO and the Mountain Tourism Cluster have signed an agreement to collaborate on issues of seasonality in mountain destinations (Madrid, Spain, 4 December, 2015).

More than 300 participants convened in Tunis for the 4th UNWTO International Conference on ‘Tourism and the Media’. The event, held in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of Tunisia, counted with the support of CNN International.

On the occasion of its 71st General Assembly, HOTREC, the European association of hotels, restaurants and cafes, joined the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism in presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
