ASTA Welcomes New U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy

Sean Duffy has been confirmed as the new U.S. Secretary of Transportation following a bipartisan 77-22 Senate vote. A former Wisconsin congressman and lobbyist, Duffy steps into the role overseeing the nation’s transportation network, including air travel, highways, and rail systems.

During his confirmation hearings, Duffy emphasized priorities such as addressing the air traffic controller shortage and restoring confidence in Boeing. The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) congratulated him, expressing optimism about collaborating on policies that impact the travel industry.

“As an integral part of the travel industry, ASTA and its advisors offer support to Secretary Duffy,” the organization said, adding that they look forward to working together to “usher in a golden age of travel.”
