“Just a Drop” Auction Sparkles at WTM 2007
“Place your bids to own one of the most exquisite and stunning diamonds in the world -and raise money for the industry’s water-aid charity Just a Drop!” said Fiona Jeffrey, Just a Drop founder and chairman of World Travel Market.
A world-class Gassan 121 diamond, worth £10,000, is to be auctioned at World Travel Market at ExCeL London on the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions stand (EM 4000) on Tuesday November 13 at 5:00pm.
The money raised by selling the glittering top auction item to the highest bidder, will be used to help stop the terrible toil of dying children in countries worldwide by providing protected wells and clean water. But the auction is not just restricted to World Travel Market.
Bidders can log on to the Just a Drop website click on events and view the latest bid. Then all bidders have to do is email Just a Drop Co-coordinator Ana Sustelo with their bid. These bids will be taken to the live auction at WTM where the bid will start at £500.
Fiona Jeffery said she could not thank Holland and the other exhibitors who are raising money during World Travel Market week for Just a Drop.
“We gave the charity the name Just a Drop because a small amount of money can make a real difference to the lives of thousands. A bid of just £1,000 at the Holland auction, for example, would help to provide clean water to a thousand children for as long as ten years; £7,500 builds a full-working well for a village thereby improving the health and prosperity of the community and reducing the long distances women and children have to trek for clean water,” Mrs. Jeffrey concluded.
An auction will also take place in aid of Just a Drop at this year’s World Travel Market Captains of Industry Lunch, sponsored by Oman Tourist Office (invitation only) on Monday November 12, hosted by the television presenter Alastair Stewart.
