The first Tourism Peru fair came to a close this weekend in Lima featuring the South American country’s 25 regions, the Peruvian Tourism Promotion Commission reported.

The event’s objective was to prod Peruvians to meet their own country by giving them hints about the nation’s tourist circuits, attractions and tourist services both in traditional routes and in new travel alternatives.

Under a slogan reading “Peru Has Everything. Live It,” the tradeshow flaunted the charms of the Andean country marked by a superb cultural wealth, ancestral roots, a breathtaking biodiversity and a great historic legacy.

“We’re seeing an increasingly higher interest among Peruvians to know their country better and that’s why we want to show them new travel choices. Our aim is to let would-be travelers know about the new destinations Peru has to offer,” said Mariella Ausejo, from the Tourism Promotion Commission.

The fair also offered a variety of tourist circuits that gave potential travelers the possibility of mapping out their own timetables.
