Mexico City’s World Trade Center will host the 2004 Expo Adventure & Ecotourism (scheduled for June 4 and 5), the only event of its kind in Central America that fosters tourism as a more environment-friendly and nature-loving activity.

Mexico’s countless offers in this field will be presented to attending travel agents, tour operators, representatives of tourism state offices, community tourism authorities and owners of ecological lodgings.

Fernanda Aldana, the exposition manager, says more and more people from around the world are becoming increasingly interested in doing tourist activities that bring them closer to nature.

“The 2004 Expo Adventure & Ecotourism provides the perfect setting to advertise ecotourism offers. Therefore, visitors may plan their vacations, their business travels, a congress or a convention with a more natural approach and attitude, with more respect toward the environment and feeling like a part of it,” Mrs. Aldana commented.

The fifth edition of Expo Adventure & Ecotourism is not only bent on advertising this leisure modality in Mexico, but also on boosting up key sustainable development projects, the protection of rural areas, and fostering a much wider economic and cultural understanding between the travel industry and the indigenous communities.
