Acapulco Ready for Latin America’s Top Tourism Event: the Mexico Travel Marketplace
The well-known destination of Acapulco, in the Mexican state of Guerrero, will be home of the 29th Mexico Travel Marketplace, the Aztec nation’s major tourism event and one of the most important ones held in Latin America.
During the four-day gathering, travel destinations and companies will unveil their services as they make business contacts with other national and international firms in the industry.
The forum is outlaid in the so-called Business Suites, an area in which travel companies and tour operators from Mexico and overseas establish their trade ties. Contacts are made by means of a system of appointments previously arranged via the Internet. Through this online system, all companies can cut deals and sign contracts, buy or sell tourist goods and services, and make new contacts.
For this year’s edition, planners are anticipating a turnout of approximately 9,000 attendants, including 1,500 Mexican and foreign tour operators and half a thousand providers of tourist services.
Furthermore, as many as 1,500 purchasers from the U.S., Canada, Central America, South America, Europe, Japan and the host nation are expected to show up for the event.
