Adventure, cultural and nature tourism will once again be the stars of the show at the upcoming edition of FITUR, Spain’s International Travel Market scheduled to hold its 25th edition from January 26 to 30 next year at the Juan Carlos I Fairgrounds in Madrid.

ACTIVE FITUR is getting more attention than any other travel segment in Spain. According to Christie & Co., a consulting firm, the 7,400 establishments dealing with rural tourism in Spain are making approximately €1.5 billion every year with growth projections of 35 percent over the next five years.

Another piece of data that reflects the good going of this particular market is the number of stays at countryside lodging facilities, up 12 percent from 2003, the National Statistics Institute reported earlier this week.
