Advisory Board Appointed to Barcelona´s EIBTM Fair Trumpets Improved Logistics
EIBTM 2005, scheduled to take place this year in Barcelona from the November 29 to December 1, has set up an Advisory Board and announced logistical and infrastructure improvements to build on the success of the first event last year.
The 12-member Advisory Board, chaired by Paul Kennedy, EIBTM Exhibition Director, was created to include senior personnel from around the world and across various sectors of the industry, such as destinations, associations, hotels, DMC´s, global event agencies and venue consultants.
Members include representatives from: Arabian Adventures, Spanish Tourist Board, Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, MPI, Leading Hotels of the World, Barcelona Convention Bureau, ICCA, Le Meridien Hotels, Ovation Group and Finland Convention Bureau.
The Board will meet twice a year to discuss key elements of the event and to set the Agenda for the future. The first meeting was held in Frankfurt recently and provided forum for debate about the proposed improvements for EIBTM 2005.
The scheduled appointments for hosted buyers will start at 11 am –one hour after the event opens to allow more time for delegates to move from their hotels and the airport.
Further improvements, relevant to both exhibitors and visitors alike, include a much higher level of security, restricted smoking areas and improved catering on site the exhibition.
