Tranquility: the state of being in a tranquil place; Relaxation: respite from the stress and strain of everyday living; Rejuvenation: the desire to “replenish the spirit”.

Where can you truly find such peace and serenity? From November 11 – 14, 2010, one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing annual musical traditions will present a repeat performance of mellow jazz rhythms set against the backdrop of Anguilla’s stunning sunsets, great ambiance and warm, embracing hospitality. And this year, the first annual Celebrity Golf Tournament will bring an added thrill to the Anguilla experience ~ All That’s Jazz.

The venue for the 2010 edition of the Anguilla Tranquility Jazz & Golf Festival is the award-winning Cuisinart Resort and Spa, located on stunning Rendezvous Bay. On Thursday, November 11th the festival kicks off with a performance by the critically acclaimed Carla Cook. Her song book is celebrated for including elements of Rhythm and Blues, European classical, Motown and Gospel, and she will bring all these influences to bear within her repertoire when, with signature style, she performs at the popular Dinner & Jazz Show.

The excitement builds on Friday, November 12th when multi-instrumentalist musician, songwriter, musical director and arranger Ronald Tulles brings his Caribbean roots to the Caribbean Jazz Night. British Dependency’s Ruel Richardson, Darius James and Johnathan ‘Shakes’ Warrington, will also take the stage as they fuse the past with the present and embrace the future through the island experiences which inspire their music.

On Saturday, November 13th keyboardist Alex Bugnon will bring the energetic and romantic force of his contemporary jazz performance to the main stage. In 2009, Bugnon surpassed the great Dizzy Gillespie’s record of playing Washington, D.C.’s Blues Alley for twelve consecutive Thanksgivings with his own lucky 13th visit. He will share with his audience in Anguilla his chameleon skills as a straight ahead jazz piano leader and the soul of a sideman. Along with Bugnon’s headline performance, the Tranquility main stage will also welcome the Anguilla Jazz Ensemble.

The musical entertainment culminates on Sunday, November 14th with the ultimate Caribbean beach party as festival goers kick back with Johnno’s Jazz on The Beach at Sandy Ground.

On Saturday, November 13th, it is time for Golf to take centre stage as U-Jamma Productions, along with The Anguilla Golf Association, Cap Juluca Hotel and the Temenos Golf Club, stage the island’s first annual Celebrity Golf tournament. Celebrity stars who will be playing their favorite sport include Anthony Anderson, star of NBC’s Emmy Award winning drama ‘Law and Order’, and Boris Kodjoe, star of the new NBC action/drama series, ‘Undercovers’. Participants may golf at Temenos for just US$150.00 per round. This also includes the Celebrity Cocktail reception which will take place at the Club House after the tournament. Non-participants may attend the reception for a cover charge of US$75.00.
