Anguilla to Host Jazz, Golf Festival in November

From Nov. 11 to 14, 2010, one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing annual musical traditions will present a repeat performance of jazz rhythms set against the backdrop of Anguilla. And this year, the first annual Celebrity Golf Tournament will take place in conjunction with the Anguilla experience -- All That’s Jazz. The venue for the 2010 edition of the Anguilla Tranquility Jazz & Golf Festival is the Cuisinart Resort and Spa, located on Rendezvous Bay.

On Nov. 11, the festival kicks off with a performance by Carla Cook. She performs at the popular Dinner & Jazz Show. Other performers to be featured throughout the event include multi-instrumentalist musician, songwriter, musical director and arranger Ronald Tulles; British Dependency’s Ruel Richardson, Darius James and Johnathan “Shakes” Warrington; and Alex Bugnon. The musical entertainment culminates on Nov. 14 with the ultimate Caribbean beach party as festival goers kick back with Johnno’s Jazz on The Beach at Sandy Ground.

On Nov. 13, golf will take center stage as U-Jamma Productions, along with The Anguilla Golf Association, Cap Juluca Hotel and the Temenos Golf Club, stage the island’s first annual Celebrity Golf Tournament. Celebrity stars who will be playing their favorite sport include Anthony Anderson, star of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning drama “Law and Order,” and Boris Kodjoe, star of the new NBC action/drama series “Undercovers.”

Participants may golf at Temenos for $150 per round. This also includes the Celebrity Cocktail reception which will take place at the Club House after the tournament. Non-participants may attend the reception for a cover charge of $75.
