ARTEX’s Bis Music Record Label Launches Telmary’s “Libre” Album

The album “Libre” (Free) by Tamary, the singer’s second CD produced by the Bis Music record label and winner of the 2014 Cubadisco Awards in the Hip-Hop Category, will be launched on February 6 at 11:00 pm, the ARTEX’s Bertolt Brecht Cultural Center in Havana.

Tania Pantoja, Alexander Abreu, Francis del Río, Samuel Formell, William Roblejo and Dreisser Duruthy are some of the guests invited to attend the concert during the launch of the new album.

The main topic on this album, according to the rapper also known as “a street poetess”, is the African-Cuban prayers, something that, in her view, must be one of the driving forces behind Cuba’s hip-hop lyrics, as well as off-the-cuff verses known as repentismo on the island nation.

Guests include Tania Pantoja, Aldo (Aldeano), Melvis Santa, Etian Brebaje Man, Francis del Río, Kumar and other artists who have kindly accepted the invitation to join the performer on this “beautiful adventure.”

She decided to call the album “Libre” (Free) because she believes this term really defines her, even though that cut is not part of the CD. In her view, she dislikes the idea of having a title song in an album because “(this album) ought to be far more than just a sequence; rather a story told through the songs contained in the CD.”

Though featuring a cozier atmosphere, “Libre” was produced at a time when her daughter Samara is still pregnant. Her latest album boasts the same number of fusion genres she made use of in “A Diario”, her debut album also launched by ARTEX’s Bis Music record label.
