Artex Lets in on its Video Project’s Volume 2

On July 14-15, at Pabellon Cuba’s May Pavilion where the 16th edition of Arte en La Rampa Fair will be taking place through September 13, Artex screened three out of the five audiovisual material included in volume 2 of its Artex Video audiovisual project.

The videos are dedicated to artists Ileana Mulet, Yudit Vidal and Flora Fong; and the other two are going to be put out soon.

The video on Alicia de la Campa is set to be displayed on July 21, at 2:00 p.m., also at May Hall, with the presence of the artist and the launch of a file with reproductions by Genesis Art Gallery. The last one, on Zaida del Rio, will be aired in August.

About Artex Video Project

Artex Video is a project that was conceived as part of the campaign aimed at celebrating the 25th anniversary of Artex, back in 2014. The artists included on the catalogue of Artex’s cultural product importing division, Comercial Lauros, were summoned for this project as their works have been reflected on the products of this institution’s flagship line: Arte en Casa.

The project, designed in 5 volumes with 5 audiovisual productions each, gives viewers an opportunity to have access to the studios of these artists and witness their creative process, since they are filmed when painting their artworks, some of which have been specially created for this project.

Beyond the advertising aspect, they try to humanize such a product as Arte en Casa, created by Comercial Lauros, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary, as well as to open a window into the work of these artists.

Two out of the five volumes have been produced to date. The first one comprises videos on Arturo Montoto, Alfredo Sosabravo, Yasbel Perez, Roberto Gonzalez and Ernesto Garcia Peña, and it was launched by Artex within the framework of the past Havana International Fair.

Unlike the first one, Volume 2, made up of five female Cuban painters, includes poems from books that have been published by Artex’s Ediciones Cubanas: Quien golpea las puertas by Ileana Mulet, Paralelepipedo by Zaida del Rio and Dulce Maria Loynaz’s Versos, to be launched soon. Also in this volume, Arte en Casa products are used by the artists and there are no 2D-or-3D cartoons like in the first one.

Besides the leading role played by Ediciones Cubanas’ poem books on the second volume, the music chosen for each production – songs written by such prestigious musicians as Chicoy, El Greco and Lucia Huergo – is included on the catalogue of Bis MusicPublishing Company and Record Label.

So the 16th Cuban Culture Fair, Arte en La Rampa, to take place in Havana through September 13 as a complement of Habanarte 2015, becomes a perfect space to launch this institution audiovisual project by Artex.

Once again, Artex Artistic and Literary Advertising Company bets on an ambitious institutional project that helps the public get to know artists and learn more about Arte en Casa product line, which combines beauty and usefulness, and offers Cuban and international visitors high-quality objects so as to make their homes more pleasant.
