Aruba Trumpets Amazing Array of High-Profile Events for 2006

Aruba´s 2006 Calendar of Events is bursting with to-do´s, including new and improved activities, attractions and much more. The island paradise is offering new guests and loyal Aruba-devotees alike a bevy of interesting cultural events, incredible music festivals featuring celebrated musicians, unique environmental volunteer programs and exhilarating sporting events.

Coming up in January and February, the island where happiness lives will be home to the 52nd Carnival Celebration, featuring spectacular parades and creative contests, the Aruba´s Tivoli Torch Parade, the Jouvert Morning and the Old Mask Parade & Burning of King Momo, among other events.

As spring comes and flowers bloom, Aruba will hold the 22nd edition of the Garage Central Extravaganza Drag Race, the Aruba Soul Beach Music Festival –featuring Grammy-winning artists such as Sean Paul, Lauryn Hill, Boyz II Men, Wyclef Jean and more, and the Aruba´s 21st International Triathlon.

The summer promises to offer a great assortment of sizzling events, such as the 19th Annual Aruba Hi-Winds Amateur World Challenge, the 17th Heineken Music Festival, and the 13th Annual Aruba Reef Care Project, a campaign which allows volunteers to participate and focus on the preservation of clean underwater sites and the island´s beaches.

Other events scheduled for the last quarter of the year will be the 5th Annual Aruba Music Festival, the Aruba Beach Tennis International Championships, the 16th Annual International Catamaran Regatta, and the St. Nicolas Day Observance.
