Asian countries resort to teamwork strategy to attend WTE

The organizing committee of the World Tourism Exhibition (WTE) to be held in Mexico City from Sept. 24 to 27 this year, said four Asian nations –Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia- will join hands in a teamwork strategy in the global competition for Asia.

Wendy Hesketh, WTE coordinator, explained the four countries will share an ample pavilion. Ms. Hesketh welcomed the “vision of coming together to showcase the region in one single tourist offer.”

The WTE will take place at the Americas-Centro Banamex Horserace Track and is organized by one of the world’s premiere planners as far as exhibits, events and integral marketing is concerned.

For the WTE organizers, the joint participation of the four Asian nations “is an example of a far-off region’s interest in opening new markets, an instance of coordination and solidarity among countries. (It’s also) a show of leadership through a visionary diplomatic office that eyes tourism as a state matter.”

In coming together and promoting as one solid region, these countries are showing political savvy and great teamwork ability, Ms. Hesketh explained.

The WTE is a promotional event for the region of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean to the world, as well as an option to present this regional market to the great offer on the rest of the planet.

The exhibiting area will comprise 13,000 square meters and a turnout of approximately 300 tourist companies, governmental representatives related to tourism, airlines, hotel chains, means of ground transportation, cruises and congress and convention facilities.

There’ll also be entertainment firms, amusement parks, freelance operators, specialized publications, institutional entities, tourist service providers, shared-time companies, technological companies and enterprises specialized in providing solutions.
