The Big Apple to Attend FITUR 2012 with Renewed Range of Hotel Opportunities

New York increased its range of hotels in 2011 by opening new establishments such as the Mondrian SOHO, Four Points by Sheraton, The Nolita and The Flatiron Hotel, among others.
The city will take advantage of its attendance at the fair in order to present these new establishments, together with another five new hotels that are scheduled to open before the end of the year.
The number of rooms that are expected to become available in the city of the skyscrapers by December will come to nearly 90,000 in all, which represents an increase of almost 24% compared to the year 2008. The most important aspect of this development is that these new hotels are largely located on the outskirts of the city, which will help to provide a boost for neighborhoods such as Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island.
These new hotel opportunities will provide visitors with an incentive to travel to NEW YORK in the year 2012 and, in this respect, during the course of FITUR, the city's tourism authorities will offer visitors information regarding a number of curious places that fall outside the traditional tourist circuits.
One example is provided by the Brooklyn Bridge Park, which has just opened the newly-renovated Jane's Carrousel, which dates back to 1922. Another interesting option is the High Line Park, which is located above an elevated railway structure to the west of Manhattan.
These visits can be complemented with activities such as the Water Taxi, which offers visitors a different way of discovering the city, or they can enjoy the most authentic New York food at Eataly, located on Fifth Avenue. The city's museums are another must, including the Metropolitan or the museum that is dedicated to the memory of the victims of September 11.
