Brazil Showcases Allures in Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte and Rio de Janeiro to 100 German Travel Agents

With a view to diversify the travel options Brazil has to offer to European tourists, the country’s Tourism Ministry and EMBRATUR are taking a hundred travel agents from Meier’s Weltreisen, one of Germany’s largest travel agencies, on a grand tour around a bunch top travel destinations, including Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte and Rio de Janeiro. The initiative is equally sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Travel Operators (BRAZTOA is the Portuguese acronym).

In Bahia, the travel agents from the world’s largest outbound market toured all major landmarks of Costa do Sauipe, Sao Paulo, and Salvador. The visitors were split in four groups of 25 members each.

This itinerary includes stays at the Convento do Carmo Hotel, catamaran and jeep rides through the Sapiranga Reserve, plus excursions into the local culture and cuisine. One of the groups swung by the beaches of Rio Grande do Norte and Buzios.

The four-group trip will end in Rio de Janeiro where the travel agents will attend a Meier’s Weltreisen seminar entitled “Welcome to Brazil 2008”, also sponsored by EMBRATUR.

In this event, the participating travel professionals will retell their experiences in the different destinations they visited around Brazil and will hold talks with representatives from the local markets.

Meier’s Weltreisen is part of the Rewe Touristik group, one of Germany’s top three tour operators. With over 25 years of experience under its belt, the travel operator targets top-notch destinations in the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia and North America.
