Businesspeople from 40 Countries to Attend Havana Fair
Over a thousand impresarios from some 40 nations will join representatives from 110 Cuban firms for the 22nd edition of the Havana International Fair, the island nation’s number-one tradeshow, that’s scheduled to take place from November 1 through 7.
Abraham Maciques, president of the Organizing Committee, explained this year’s massive turnout stems from Cuba’s increasing perspectives to do business with other countries.
More than 100,000 square yards of exhibition space will be available at the EXPOCUBA Fairgrounds –in the outskirts of Havana- for forty participating nations from Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as for local companies.
Last year’s weeklong event closed with the signing of $160 million worth of contracts with companies from the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Maciques pointed out that in an international fair like this, “we should not only take account of the deals we cut, but also be aware of the window of opportunities that we open to start out negotiations with businesspeople and providers of cutting-edge technology and products that are more competitive than those we’re buying right now.”
