Businesspeople from the Grand Caribbean to meet in the Dominican Republic
The Fifth Grand Caribbean Entrepreneurial Forum will get cracking in Santo Domingo on October 24 under the sponsorship of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and the Dominican Center for Investment Promotion (CEI-RD).
The Entrepreneurial Forum is an initiative of the ACS, in coordination with the CEI-RD that seeks to foster commerce in the Grand Caribbean through business contacts and other activities.
The two-day powwow is coming around for a fifth year in a row in an effort to promote new business opportunities between local exporters and visiting importers. This time around, the forum will gather some 300 impresarios from the 28 ACS member states.
The success of this gathering has traditionally hinged on its ability to strengthen trade ties and create windows of opportunity to pry emerging markets wide open.
The forum came into being out of the increasing need of ACS member states to step up commerce and investment among themselves.
The ACS has strategically associated with Caribbean governmental institutions specialized in trade and investment promotion. A case in point is the CEI-RD, one of the event´s sponsors. The CEI-RD is a state-run office in charge of advertising the Dominican Republic overseas as a travel destination.
