The Caribbean Made Successful Appearance at Dutch Holiday Fair
Scores of consumers were treated to lively Caribbean music, daily prize draws, Salsa and Merengue workshops, headscarf binding and Rasta hair plaiting at the recent annual Dutch Holiday Fair in Utrecht.
The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) coordinated a program at the event for the tourist boards of Aruba, Bonaire, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Maarten, St. Martin, St. Kitts, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Anguilla, Saba and St. Eustatius.
CTO invited visitors to the Caribbean Village to a get-together at which Julia Hendry, director of marketing for Europe, reviewed the performance of the Dutch market in 2003. Over 400 guests attended the get-together.
“Visitors to the Caribbean Village were very positive about the presentations, the activities and the Caribbean setting,” said Harry Betist, head of the CTO Holland Chapter.
More than 170,000 visitors, including consumers and the media, attended the fair.
