Two live weddings, musical performances and a new children’s village are the highlights of the Caribbean Fair & Vacation Mart at South Street Seaport during Caribbean Week 2007.

A new Children’s Village showcasing Caribbean music, arts and crafts, and storytelling along with two live weddings, a concert and many exciting cultural offerings will underscore the program of the Caribbean Fair & Vacation Mart on Tuesday, June 12 during the Caribbean Tourism Development Company’s (CTDC) annual Caribbean Week 2007 in New York City

“The Caribbean Fair & Vacation Mart has emerged as a much-anticipated cultural centerpiece of Caribbean Week where we showcase the region’s energy, exuberance and overall cultural appeal during a day-long extravaganza, and we distinguish ourselves as offering more than the fantastic beaches and picturesque scenery that have made us one of the world’s leading warm-weather destinations,” said Hugh Riley, one of the event’s main organizers.

This year’s Caribbean Fair & Vacation Mart will feature approximately 70 booths showcasing promotional materials, indigenous products, arts and crafts, food samples prepared by Caribbean Celebrity Chefs, and a variety of cultural items and presentations.

To encourage consumers to experience the Caribbean up close and personal, the Fair’s Vacation Mart will provide individuals with the opportunity to purchase specially-priced Caribbean vacation packages from travel professionals.
