CATM 2008 to Take Place in Nicaragua

In its fifth year, the Central American Travel Market (CATM) will showcase the region’s best travel offerings during a weeklong expo in Managua, Nicaragua this coming October. More than 300 buyers and suppliers are expected to attend.

The international trade event is open to wholesalers, outbound tour operators and other travel buyers from Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America with proven interest in Central American tourism.

“We are excited and ready for the opportunity to host such an important exposition,” says Mario Salinas, Nicaragua’s Minister of Tourism. “Nicaragua has come a long a way in the past five years, and with a much improved infrastructure and tourism offerings, we have all the capabilities necessary to host events of the size and magnitude of CATM”, he added.

Show dates are October 10 thru 12, 2008 with pre tours of Nicaragua starting on October 7 and post tours of the other member countries commencing on October 13.

Buyers from Europe, the United States, South America and Central America will participate in pre-scheduled appointments, networking opportunities, historic city tours, and cultural events and evening receptions in Managua and the colonial city of Granada.

Exhibitors will range from receptive tour operators, lodging facilities and transportation providers to resorts, theme parks, restaurants and meeting, incentive and event organizers.
