The second “Cayman Islands Fly In,” set for June 6-10, follows a successful Fly In event in late February, which saw private aircraft from all over the U.S. journey en masse by private plane to Grand Cayman.

The June event provides those pilots who missed the first Fly In the opportunity to participate in the experience. “The response to our February Fly In was tremendous, and every one of the planes that came down will be back,” said Jim Parker of Caribbean Flying Adventures, the company responsible for organizing the events.

Pilots wishing to participate in the Fly In must be in Key West by June 5, where discounted accommodations can be booked at the Doubletree Key West Resort. The Fly In departs Key West after a breakfast briefing at 8:30 a.m. on June 6, bound for Grand Cayman.

The flight is a two and a half hour journey over Cuba and across the reef system that surrounds the Cayman Islands. Upon arrival, a rum punch reception and group dinner awaits, followed by optional discounted activities ranging from an onward flight to Little Cayman, snorkeling and diving, a trip to Stingray City or just enjoying the tropical climate.

The operator behind the Fly In, Caribbean Flying Adventures, provides an escort pilot, documents, charts, Cuban over flight permits, safety gear and negotiated hotel rates both in Key West and at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.
