The Central American Convention (CAC), representing the region’s tourist private sector, will make its public debut at the 2004 FITUR by holding a joint press conference in Madrid with the Central American Tourism Association (CATA).

Central American heads of state are convinced the region’s seven nations are seen as a solid unit in the travel industry worldwide. Based on that common strategy, these countries agreed to found the Central American Tourism Association (CATA) on December 2002.

For its part, the CAC zeroes in on the private sector by offering activities and solutions, as well as multi-destination options. Founded on December 2003, the CAC is currently made up of three members: the Destination Management Company, a receptive travel agency for each member nation, as well as such associated members as hotels, congress organizations, car rentals, regional airlines and other companies interested in providing travel-related services.

The CAC is by far the contact of choice for travel agencies, incentive and congress organizations, incentive groups and others in the business willing to make special, top-quality offers and programs.
