Central Holidays Names VP of New Latin America, Cuba Division

Central Holidays, long known for its specialty group tours throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, named Arthur Berman as vice president of its newly created Latin America and Cuba division.

Berman's appointment coincides with Central Holidays' recent rollout of five Cuba programs as well as the company's Cruise Around Cuba package.

Berman joined Central Holidays in May, following his post as executive vice president of Latour, where he headed the operator's South America division.

Previous positions include president of Moment's Notice Travel Club, a retail agency promoting last-minute cruises and land packages. He also served as vice president of Travel Impressions, spearheading the company's South America charter and FIT program.

For many years, Berman handled the Israel program for Global of London.

Additional career highlights include Berman's VTC (Vacation Travel Concepts) company, which sent more than 3,000 passengers per week via charter flights from the U.S. to Rio de Janeiro in the 1980s.

Berman also chartered the former Epirotiki Lines' Pegasus ship in 1985 and 1986 for 10- and 12-day roundtrip cruises from Salvador, Brazil, to Buenos Aires.
