CIMET Opened the Gates to This Year´s FITUR
The Eight Iberian American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Impresarios (CIMET 2005), at the Madrid Convention Center & Fairground, was the perfect threshold for the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2005), whose 25th edition is coming to a succesful end Sunday in Spain.
The CIMET conclave, organized by the NEXO Group in collaboration with the CEOE Tourism Council and FITUR, was attended by representatives from twenty countries in what panned out to be one of the best turnouts in the history of the event.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Madrid Mayor Alberto Ruiz Gallardon, and Tourism and Commerce Secretary Pedro Mejia.
The King of Spain Juan Carlos, who is CIMET Honorary Chairman, hosted a special reception for the meeting participants at La Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, as well as the members of the organizing committee of the important business-oriented gathering.
Also attending were the Spanish tourism and trade secretary, Pedro Mejía, and the president of the board of directors of the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, FITUR 2005, josé María Alvarez del Manzano.
