Club Med Names Camille Olivere Head of U.S. Sales

Camille Olivere, the popular executive who left Norwegian Cruise Line in November, has joined Club Med as senior vice president of sales for the U.S.
“We are excited about welcoming an executive of Camille’s caliber with a proven track record of engaging with key travel partners,” said Xavier Mufraggi, president and CEO of Club Med North America. “Her influence will be key to supporting our ambitious growth plans.”
Olivere was senior vice president of sales at Norwegian Cruise Line where she was instrumental in rebuilding the relationship with the travel agent community through the Partners First initiative. Olivere left the day Norwegian closed on its purchase of Prestige Cruise Holdings, the parent company of Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The executive ranks have shifted several times since then.
Before she joined Norwegian in 2009, Olivere was vice president of commercial development at Travelport and director of sales for Oracle in the e-Travel division.
Club Med North America has achieved a strong turnaround in the last 10 years. Focusing on the affluent family market, the North American unit experienced “a significant increase in top line sales, with double-digit growth over the last years,” the company said.
“Club Med is a unique family vacation experience that I have a strong personal connection with,” Olivere said. “I am very excited to lead the sales team to elevate product awareness and continue to facilitate the ease of doing business with Club Med. There is tremendous opportunity for travel partners to grow with us, and I am excited to be a part of the Club Med team.”
Club Med continues to invest in its resorts, adding oceanfront family rooms to the property in Cancun, upgrading Club Med Punta Cana and entering into a partnership with Cirque du Soleil.
“We are also planning several more extensions and new resort openings over the next years,” Mufraggi said. “We have seen a solid increase in our North American-sourced business and with our expansion plans our goal is to accelerate this growth. We know Camille is the right person to lead our sales team in this exciting new phase of expansion.”
