Cuba-Argentina business seminar is round the corner

Trade ties between Cuba and Argentina will get a new shot in the arm this week with the opening in Buenos Aires of a seminar entitled Economic Outlook and Business Perspectives on the Caribbean Island of Cuba.

The powwow, organized by Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and the Cuban embassy in Buenos Aires, will be followed by rounds of negotiations between companies from both countries eager to ink agreements in the fields of foodstuffs, car parts, transportation, health care, software, information technology, travel and culture.

High on the agenda are such topics as the Evolution of Bilateral Trade between Argentina and Cuba, Economic Outlooks and Business Development, Foreign Investment in Cuba, as well as Economic and Entrepreneurial Complementation between Argentina and Cuba, among other issues.

The Cuban delegation –presided over by Cuba’s Chamber of Commerce chairwoman Bertha Delgado and Ramon Marin, a director from the Ministry of Foreign Investment and Collaboration- has also scheduled a special presentation of the island nation’s scientific research upshots and health care achievements.

Sources in the Cuban capital told Caribbean News Digital that Argentine sales to the island have swayed from $80 to $35 million in the last three years.
