The tenth edition of the FIART 2004 International Artisanship Fair will get going in Havana between December 12 and 19 under a slogan reading “Artisanship and Vital Space.”

The goal of the event’s Organizing Committee is the promotion of those works of art whose designs, craftsmanship and usefulness suggest an attractive vital space that raises living standards through the esthetic shaping of any daily environment.

FIART 2004 will this time around be dedicated to Mexico and its tremendous handicraft might, as well as to artisan’s furniture, one of the most coveted products of all.

The Cuban Cultural Assets Fund will unveil a fair teeming with a new-fangled design based on specialized artisans’ shops that market many of these products. Planners are also setting the state for the launch of several handicraft collections and the second edition of the digital catalog.
