Cuba Hopes to Put on Good Show at Tourism Fair in Madrid

Cuba will participate, along with another 14 Latin American and Caribbean nations, in the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR-2009) that begins next week in the Spanish capital. The exhibitors from Latin America and the Caribbean will show their products and services at Pavilion 8, one of the twelve that will make up the traditional event.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, the region will be represented by Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The list also includes some Central American countries that will be grouped in a facility reserved for this region, as announced by the organizers of the fair. A total of 11,137 firms –half of them being from the host country- will participate in this year’s event and the exhibition area will cover 87,520 square meters.
