Cuba’s 2004 Tourism Convention –scheduled for May 3 to 6 in Varadero- will this time around be devoted to portray culture as a tourist product and to highlight the Jardines del Rey destination, said Martha Maiz, the island nation’s tourism vice minister. The United Kingdom will be this year’s guest country.

Tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, media organizations, industry professionals and tourist institutions will take advantage of this magnificent opportunity to exchange views and unveil new lines of products and services.

With a decade of tourist operations under its belt, Cuba’s Jardines del Rey destination –comprising Coco and Guillermo keys some 310 miles east of Havana- currently boasts 3,600 rooms grouped in eleven four- and five-star hotels.
