DATE 2007 to Be Held at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort Convention Center Golf & Casino
The hotel where the “Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange” (DATE) 2007 will be held, sponsored by the National Hoteliers and Restaurant Owners Association (Asonahores), from April 12 to 14, is penciled in as the most complete hotel complex in the Dominican Republic and one of the top Caribbean hotels.
The Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort Convention Center Golf & Casino has 1,921 rooms distributed in 5 hotels, of which 36 are suites in the Palace Hotel plus 64 2-story suites in the Hotel Casino, next to the standard rooms.
All of the rooms have a balcony, air conditioning, satellite transmitted TV channels, mini bar, coffee brewer, telephone, safety box, a full bath with hair blower and one or two beds. Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort has halls for congresses and events with capacity ranging from 50 to 3,000 persons, and business center.
The complex contains five hotels, known as the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort, 8 theme restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Dominican, Seafood, Barbeque dishes, in addition to 5 buffet restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner and gourmet a la carte restaurants.
There are 16 bars located in the different spots of the complex, 5 pools for adults and children. Gift and arts crafts shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, drugstores, music stores, a logo and photo shop, and a cigar and liqueur store.
Date 2007 is the most important event presented by Dominican tourism, prepared and organized by Asonahores and the Tourism Promotion Council (CPT), with sponsorship by the Tourism Ministry (SECTUR).
