Delegation from Chile’s Punta Arenas Attended Ecotourism Summit in Norway
Sixteen tourism operators from Punta Arenas traveled to Norway to attend the World Ecotourism Summit which that stretched from May 14 thru 17 in Oslo and was opened by Queen Sonja.
The three days summit agenda included conferences and debates on ecotourism and sustainable development, ecotourism and conservation, communications and education, ecotourism certification plus a full hour dedicated to Chile’s Patagonia.
The Chilean delegation which was partly financed by Chile’s Promotion Corporation, CORFO, had a booth at the show with literature, brochures and information on Patagonia. As many as 400 delegates from sixty different countries participated in the summit.
According to the Punta Arenas press the Chilean delegation held a meeting with forty of Norway’s and Europe’s main ecotourism operators.
