Delta Air Lines signed an exclusive partnership with the Brazilian Association for GLS Tourism (ABRAT GLS), the largest LGBT tourism organization in Brazil. Delta’s sponsorship will enable ABRAT to promote travel benefits between Brazil-U.S. within its associates.

“Delta recognizes the importance of promoting diversity and is committed to seeking out and building mutually beneficial relationships with the LGBT community,” said Luciano Macagno, Delta´s director in Brazil.

“We are very proud to announce this partnership with Delta,” said ABRAT president, Marta Dalla Chiesa. “Delta is our first official airline partner in Brazil, and I hope this will set an example for other businesses as well. ABRAT and Delta both know LGBT tourism has enormous potential in the region and I hope other companies will soon realize it too.”

“The LGBT community in Brazil represents a large business opportunity for the travel and tourism sector with nearly 10 million members in the country,” said Macagno.

For the past three years Delta has supported GNetwork 360 which is the largest LGBT organization in Argentina, showing the airline’s long-standing support to the LGBT community in the region. In the United States, Delta supports National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and GLAAD, among other organizations.
