Dominican Republic Attended Tourism Tradeshow in Puerto Rico

The president of Plaza Tours, a Puerto Rico-based tour operator, has highlighted the fact that the Dominican Republic was one of the main travel destinations for his customers in 2006, with a major market share.

Speaking at the tourism fair being held in Puerto Rico, Damian Morel said that his company would start promoting all-year vacation sales as well the traditionally popular summer season.

In a presentation, Mr. Morel optimistically announced that sales had increased 160 percent in 2006 compared to the previous year, “despite the increase in the cost of living and the economic crisis experienced in Puerto Rico over the last year”.

Over 200 travel agencies took part in the fair, which was held in the Puerto Rican Police Convention Center.
