Elito Revé y su Charangón Launches New Album by the Hand of Artex’s Musicalia Agency

Elito Revé y su Charangón, a popular Cuban band that belongs to Artex’s Musicalia agency, will soon unveil its latest album entitled “La salsa tiene mi son”, a tribute to Elito’s father, celebrated Cuban musician Elio Revé Matos who was the leader of the band till his passing and is known as the Father of Changüí for the many contributions he made to that particular rhythm.
The CD has two dozen cuts, split in 12 contemporary songs by the Charangón and 12 songs that his father Elio Revé turned into smash hits between the late 1980s and the early 1990s. The latter dozen features such heavyweight singers as Puerto Rico’s Gilberto Santa Rosa and Dominican José Alberto El Canario, as well as Cuba’s Pablo Milanés, Israel Rojas, Haila María Mompié, Paulito FG, Mayito Rivera, Isaac Delgado, Juan Miguel Díaz Zayas (el Indio), Mandy Cantero, Sixto Llorente, Gente D’ Zona and los Muñequitos de Matanzas.
Some of the cuts culled in this album by El Charangón had already been released in November 2014 during the closing ceremony of the ninth edition of Baila en Cuba, an event organized by the Paradisocultural travel agency, also attached to Artex.
Elito Revé cashed in on this moment to release the new songs, though he also performed some blockbusters included in his previous albums La aplanadora de Cuba (2014), Fresquesito(2007) and De qué estamos hablando (2010), all produced by the Bis Musicrecord label run by Artex.
